Our Canadian Road Trip

Hi Everyone, Since the pandemic, Paul and my life Well it took us 4 1/2 days to travel from Invermere, B.C. where our storage facility lives, to Edmundston, New Brunswick where my mother in law resides.

Paul, my safe trusty driver drove 4334 km to get to his mom's place and it took us approximately 45 hours to accomplish this.

Everything went very smoothly on the trip except for when we ran out of gas in Upsula, a remote little town of Ontario! The town housed two gas stations, unbeknownst to us they were both closed at 5 p.m., we arrived late with an empty gas tank and out of luck!

Since the next town to get gas was Thunderbay, Ontario, we didn't have sufficient gas to drive there to fill up, with limited fuel, our only solution for that night was to sleep in our Jeep at the gas station.

Needless to say, the sleep was awful, there were so many mosquitoes buzzing around us in the car. Paul and I hunted down those pests in the early evening before we retired to our sleepless night.

Despite the bad sleep, we did witness a gorgeous sunrise the next morning. At 7 a.m. the gas station opened, we filled up our car and took off. But Boy, were we ever tired that day with a bad night's sleep and no coffee I was not a happy camper until I got some coffee in me that afternoon.

Now that we have arrived, we have to quarantine for 14 days before we visit the rest of the Maritime.

One of our goals, for this trip, is to see Nora and to spoil her, it has been almost 2 years since we saw her last, the fourteen days of quarantine is perfect for a good in-depth visit.

So far, for the last five days, we chatted up a storm, played a few card games, went to bed late, and woke up early. Sleeplessness seems to be the trend for the trip. But hey, it is not often that we get to visit with Nora, so lacking sleep is understandable.

Paul and I look forward to our visit to the rest of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in the very near future.
