When I first started my art career, my kitchen table was my studio then after that, I had many small studios/storages. Twenty-two years later, I got lucky and ended up with (Drumroll) not 1 but 2 ample spaced studios!
Hi friends, Paul and I have made an Art Studio Tour Video to share with you. In this video, I will walk you through my two studios and explain their purposes.
When I first started, our kitchen table was my studio, I was painting next to the stove. As I became a professional artist, my studio became more workable, but they were more like Studio/storage. That means limited space and some frustrations. Basically, I was painting next to the laundry basket.
Last year, Paul and I purchased a larger house so that we can house our studios at home. And, my patience has finally paid off! Now I have two great-sized studios! One for making Art and the other one is my Media Room where I do art coaching and videotaping like this one.
If you are an artist, you will find the studio tour useful, because I explained how I set up the studio to maximize efficiency and other tip bits.
And if you are an art lover, you will find the studio tour just as interesting because you get to see where I work. Come and see for yourself. I got Paul as my cameraman this time (so lucky). :)
BTW it is Raw Footage, so no editing and Paul and I had a lot of fun making the video for you!
Enjoy the video, everyone!
With Creative Joy,

There is always something new at Ting Yuen Art. Here are a few updates.
Thank you, friends, for all your testimonials. Recently I have added a testimonial page to my website. Check it out here. I have also sprinkled a few endorsements throughout my website, making it more interesting. I love all your recommendations and kind words, making it a great addition to my website. My deepest gratitude to all my endorsers.
I have created a Frequently Asked Question Page on my website. I have also added a video explaining the type of art print that I sell.
In this video, I explained what a Giclee print is. Furthermore, I also go into detail explaining the difference between a limited and open edition print. You can watch it right here. Enjoy it!

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, love is definitely top on our minds. It doesn't have to be a day for couples only. It can be just be the day to say "I am love".
Hey friends, are you a romantic at heart? I am and I have painted a whole series dedicated to love, called the Romance Series.
I believe in romance so much, that I have collected 28 years of cards that Paul has ever written to me, and I am not kidding!
Why do I believe in romance? I believe in it because when you show someone that you are grateful for them, your gratitude and love will strengthen and improve your relationship. And I know we all desire to have relationships that continuously flourish and bring joy. And here are more reasons why Love Conquers All.
Love is Powerful
Love is Universal, and it never runs out. It is an emotional feeling that surpasses so many challenges. If you love with all your heart, you will manifest energy that is powerful and undeniable.
Love is a Confidence Booster
Love gives a person confidence and security because when a person is loved, she will always have guidance and protection.
Unconditional love can make a difference in someone's life. So give out love from your heart, and you will see someone blossom into the most magnificent being.
Love yourself unconditionally, and you will gain self-acceptance. And the harmful comparison of others will end you will also regain your value and be proud of who you are.
Let's Celebrate Love
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Plan a special day and spoil your loved ones because LOVE is worth celebrating.
With Creative Joy,
Do you have someone in your life that makes everything better for you, the person that makes you feel limitless, and that everything is possible?
A Tribute to my Best Friend, Paul, the inspiration behind my Romance Series Artwork.
Today, I would like to give tribute to my husband and business partner, Paul. Most of you met me from our Art Rush Gallery. But only some of you had the pleasure to meet Paul.
When you visit our gallery, I am the front person who greets you and serves you, but what you do not see is the person in charge of everything else that happens in the back.
The person that operates the back end of the gallery is Paul. He works hard in the back so that everything runs smoothly in the front. Paul never asks for recognition, and in my eye, he is the backbone of the business.
Our Mighty Little Business is Small by Design and Here are our Whys:
Since 2001, the two of us have been operating our Art and Jewelry business together. Our mighty little business is small by design.
Paul and I keep our business small because we believe in giving you authentic hand-made products with the best service that we can offer. Our mission is to keep you happy by providing well made products, professional service with a personal touch. And our reputation and reviews testify to our mission.
I may be the creator of the art and the stories that go along with them. But I wouldn't be here without my Paul.
Paul plays a vital role in our life and business. He is the glue that keeps things going and the anchor that solidifies our livelihood.
Paul is the Glue and the Anchor of our Business.
While you may not see Paul in the gallery, he is busy designing and making jewelry in the back studio. Paul also patiently photographs my artwork and makes them into prints and art gifts, such as T-shirts, tote bags, journals set up, magnets, and purse mirrors. Wait before you applaud! Paul is also our bookkeeper, wildlife photographer, Web designer, and maintenance guy!
In my eyes, Paul is my hero, always giving us his best.
Last but not least, Paul is also the inspiration behind my Romance Series paintings. Well, I can't help it when someone inspires my life so much, I got to paint about it. :)
I am so fortunate to have Paul in my corner, and his high standard and dedication are unmatchable in business and life.
So friends, who is that person that lights up your life and makes you feel limitless?
With Creative Joy,
TingPaul is the Glue and the Anchor of our Business.
These are the paintings that are inspired by Paul.....
Hi Friends, You often tell me that you love the colors and mood of my paintings. I believe, you are referring to the vibrating iridescent colors of my work. The secret is the Glaze that I primed my canvas with that produced the result.
Glazing is an application of colors underneath the surface of the painting. In the painting below, you may see green, pink, and brown. But what you don't see is the glaze of the artwork.
A Glaze is an application of colors I cover my canvas surface with before I begin to paint. The glaze of this painting below is a crisscross of red, green, and yellow.
What the glaze does to a painting is giving the overall artwork a certain vibrancy and excitement. When you look at this painting closely, you will find peaks of reds, yellows, and blues seeping through, creating depth and curiosity.
If you were an artist: next time before you paint, try priming your canvas with different glazes of colors, you will love the result of your finished piece.
And if you were an art admirer, take a closer look at an original painting and see if the artist had primed the canvas with washes of colors? Or does the painting looks like it was painted without a glaze?
Check out the pictures below to see the transformation of the painting.

Hello friends, Thank you so much for participating in the Testimonial for my Artwork. I received so many beautiful testimonials about my art and surprisingly about my characteristics, which is helpful.
These testimonials will help my potential customers to know more about my art, and it will also serve as a witness to my character, which will build the trust factor.
I truly am grateful for your thoughtfulness and your beautiful tribute to my art. You bet I will be using most of them for my marketing.
I have picked two winners randomly: and here are the names of the winners. Michelle Bastock and Mardi Gammie, Congratulations! Please, email me and let me know your chosen print.
Thank you for participating. Your kindness reminds me of just how fortunate I am to have customers as friends. I truly am blessed.
Hi friends, I would like to share with you my new paintings. This series of artwork is called Memories.
Last year, Paul and I traveled to South East Asia and visited five countries. In this series, I explore my fascination with travel.
When I travel, I love the feeling of freedom, the exoticness of the unknown. To travel well takes an enormous time to plan, which also led me to unplug from Social Media, giving me the time to look up and see the world around me instead of seeing the world through the lenses of my mobile or computer.
What I love most about traveling is navigating and embracing the unpredictability. Your travel experience is as rewarding as you want it to be. In my experience, when Paul and I dropped our boundaries and immerse ourselves in their culture, doors open up for us to countless experiences. We did not let our language barrier stop us from making new friends. And because of our willingness to embrace their culture. Paul and I got invited to their homes and enjoyed their genuine hospitality.
The challenges of travel and seeing the world with a fresh set of eyes only make us discover more about ourselves and our ability to adapt and solve problems as it arises. It opened our perspective and helped us to learn more about ourselves along the way.
Our trip was a life-changing experience, but it also makes Paul and I appreciate our own country and its comfort.
These paintings depict my fascination with the unknown, its beauty, and memories that will last our lifetime. the colors are vibrant and textural which expresses my intense love for the exotic lands.
I feel so fortunate that Paul and I had such a rewarding trip. I wonder when we would have the chance to travel again with the Pandemic looming above us.
I know one thing, as soon as the Pandemic is over, Paul and I will be making plans for our next epic travel.
With Creative Joy,

Wow! 2020 was a year of Yin and Yang. I had a fantastic start and ended with the biggest heartbreak of losing my mom. I know I am not the only one with heartaches, and some of you have suffered as much as I have and maybe more.
2021 is quickly approaching. I hope we will all get vaccinated, and the pandemic will soon be over.
Nevertheless, it is a new year, and that brings new hopes and plans. I was mulling through a few goal planning ideas to set you on the right track.
To improve our lives and business goals, we need to have a plan in place or maybe two. The more equipped we are to get these goals set up, the more likely we will succeed in life, relationship, or business.
The other thing about goal planning is that it is not a NY resolution as it is more of a mindset intention. It is all about keeping our minds focused on our dreams, scheduling them, and getting them accomplished.
One word of advice: do not make an exceedingly big to-do list that will overwhelm you and set yourself up for failure. Keeping it manageable is better than an over-ambitious to-do list.
I have researched the best planners for your 2021 goal setting. Here are my three favorite goal planners:
The Word of the Year Tool: Time Needed 45 mins more or less
The Word Of The Year Tool designed by Christine Kane is easy to digest, and she also provides a little exercise for you to do, making it fun and provides clarity. It will take less than an hour to complete.
I love this one because it is all about mindset, and that truly is the initial magical formula to accomplishing everything you want in life. Since getting anything done needs some strategic planning, I would not stop right here with Christine Kane. My suggestion is to continue with an additional planner that is more detailed in setting each goal up for success. Please see below for my recommendations.
Purge and Prune: Time Needed 30 mins or less
Purge and Prune method by Marie Forleo is a two-step method, which is super easy to follow with the same up-level intention. It is less detailed, a simple but useful guide to follow. It is a worthwhile watch on Marie TV: Marie Forleo Goal setting
It is a fun and informative 11 minutes video to watch. It does offer a free planner download, and if you were to do the exercise that Marie has suggested, it might take about ½ hr to complete. I find the planner basic, but it does provide you some clarity on your projects.
Year Detailed Planning: Time needed is about 45 mins more or less
Year Detailed Planning is by Jenna Kutcher, a podcast that takes 27 minutes of listening time: https://jennakutcherblog.com/115/. To be clear, Jenna Kutcher Detailed Planning is on a Mastermind that she had participated in with some of her modifications.
Jenna explained that the method breaks down the yearly panning into quarters, making it manageable and easy to implement. She talks about getting detailed with each goal, with when and where you should schedule each task, making it doable.
I love this method because Jenna goes into depth on strategically scheduling your projects in detail, making it my second choice for my goal planning for this year.
The similarities between these three goal-setting methods are clarity, keeping it simple, and mindset.
Goal-setting is not only about accomplishing your dream. The process of goal setting also helps you to become the person you want to become. A positive mindset is the beginning of all successes in life.
Well, I hope this guide will help you effectively plan out your 2021 so that you can make things happen successfully. I know which one I am going to follow, and that is the Word Of The Year Tool by Kristine Kane and Jenna Kutcher Year Detailed Planning.
Grab a notebook and your favorite marker and get planning and let us make our 2021 the best year ever!
With Creative Joy,
Ting Yuen xoxo
